Weekly Schedule Overview
The weekly schedule is designed to accommodate lecture hours, lab sessions, tutorials, and co-curricular activities, along with sufficient breaks to ensure students’ focus and well-being.
- Lecture Hours: Classes are scheduled according to the subjects and the department-specific curriculum. A typical week consists of approximately 20 to 25 hours of lectures, which include theoretical and practical sessions.
- Laboratory Sessions: Engineering students have regular lab sessions scheduled during the week to complement their theoretical knowledge with practical experience. Labs may occur once or twice a week for each subject.
- Project Work / Research: Students are encouraged to engage in individual or group research projects. Specific hours may be allocated depending on the subject or department.
- Co-Curricular Activities: Dedicated slots for workshops, seminars, guest lectures, technical fests, and sports activities are organized throughout the academic year.
Examination Schedule
- Mid-Semester Exams: These are held in the middle of each semester to assess the students’ progress. The dates for mid-semester exams are typically announced at the beginning of the semester and are integrated into the academic calendar.
- End-Semester Exams: The end-semester examinations are conducted at the end of each semester to evaluate the students’ overall learning and comprehension of the subject matter. Exam schedules will be provided at least one month in advance.
- Supplementary Exams: For students who miss or fail to clear the regular examinations, supplementary exams will be held during the vacation period or the beginning of the next semester.
Special Schedule Events
- Industry Visits: These visits are scheduled during weekends or within specific time slots during the semester to provide students with real-world exposure to the industry.
- Guest Lectures & Seminars: Special lectures and seminars from experts in various fields are often scheduled during weekdays, typically in the late afternoon or early evening.
- Cultural and Technical Fests: During the annual fest, sports week, or other major events, the regular academic schedule may be adjusted to accommodate participation in competitions, cultural performances, and team-building activities.
Breaks & Holidays
- Lunch Break: Students are given a one-hour break between lectures (12:00 PM – 1:00 PM) for lunch. A range of food options is available on campus for students to refresh and socialize.
- Weekend Break: Saturdays are generally reserved for extra-curricular activities, remedial classes, or departmental work, with Sundays being the official holiday for students.
- National & Institutional Holidays: The college follows the national holiday schedule, including Republic Day, Independence Day, Gandhi Jayanti, and other major holidays. Additionally, college-specific holidays for local festivals or institutional events may also be scheduled.
- Winter & Summer Breaks: Students are granted a winter break (usually from mid-December to early January) and a summer break (typically during June-July), based on the academic calendar.
Timetable Flexibility
- Personalized Timetable: Students may be given some flexibility to choose elective courses based on their interests and career aspirations. These electives are scheduled to avoid conflicts with mandatory core subjects.
- Evening Sessions: For students who may have other commitments (e.g., internships or part-time work), evening sessions for certain courses might be offered, subject to availability and faculty.
Online Classes & Hybrid Learning
- Online Classes: During special circumstances (such as public health situations), online classes may be conducted via the college’s virtual learning platform.
- Hybrid Model: For flexibility, some subjects may be taught through a hybrid learning model, where part of the course is delivered in-person, and part is delivered online.
